This week’s look at conference highlights will feature our 3 conferences having championships before we hit 2014. I can’t believe we’re ready to crown some champs already! South Suburban Championship will be Saturday at Burnsville, while Classic and North Suburban will be Friday night at Richfield and Benilde respectively.
South Suburban Conference: The Lightning of Eastview are the leaders in this one, winning all 4 conference matchups (2 kick and 2 jazz) so far this year. Lakeville South and Burnsville have been flip flopping those jazz results, while South, Burnsville, and Apple Valley look to round out the top 4 in the kick division. Burnsville will be hosting and bringing it’s A game, but Lakeville South has momentum from a come-from-nowhere season they’ve had so far. This conference will surely be retiring some dances after Saturday, so if you plan to see one, get yourself to Burnsville.
Classic Suburban: The CSC has been dominated so far by Henry Sibley, with Simley and South St. Paul holding tight to the 2nd and 3rd spots. Since this conference doesn’t have everyone against everyone each week, standings don’t always go with who wins by points. The final round should set us up for a preview of who will be looking good to advance from section 1AA as well.
North Suburban: The NSC is having its’ final dance off at Benilde, with Totino Grace and Benilde sharing a slice of the victories so far. Spring Lake Park isn’t going away quietly, and Fridley will want to get in there somewhere too. Lots of talent in these matchups, and anything could happen on championship night.
