Results Recap

My oh my have you been getting out and hitting the dance-floor big time this past week!  I had a record number of results entries to put in, and I’m just now recovered.  Whew!  We’ve got some highlights and high scores to talk about this week.  Here’s the news:

Rocori and Sauk Rapids:  these two are going back and forth and keeping it tight as to who’s got the upper hand each week.  The Rocori invitational settled nothing as we watch these two fight for spots to state in 2 short weeks.

Missota Conference Wraps Up:  Chaska claims the win this year, with Chanhassen finishing strong and taking 2nd in the championship round.  A surging Holy Angels team had to settle for 3rd this time.

Waconia Invitational:  Montevideo finally got in front of class A teams and came out strong in kick with a win. Belle Plaine pulled out a surprise in AA section 3 action.  That section is always all over, and now we can add Belle Plaine to the list of winners there.  Once wright county conference has it’s championship, perhaps the picture will be less cloudy.

Section 1A:  Dover Eyota keeps sneaking upward, taking some impressive wins over section teams in kick and placing well in jazz.  Zumbrota and Lake City continue to roll on with their respective wins this weekend in jazz and kick.  Just who will end up top 3 here is still in flux.

Northwest Suburban Conference Championship:  Maple Grove took the win in both divisions and overall championships.  The crimson have won every year since 03(?) and show no signs of loosening up on that one.  Quite impressive.  Blaine is pulling things together, staying ahead of Champlin Park and Andover, who will still be making a push to qualify for state from this conference group.

Brainerd and Lakeville South:  The South invitational was an exciting day when Brainerd and LvSo go to a tiebreaker in varsity and JV kick.  Wow.  South sure wants to get their name out there before sections.  Even losing the tie to Brainerd, they managed to place over section rival Faribault who is looking good this year.

Marshall Invitational:  This important “out west” meet was a critical win for Tracy and Lac Qui Parle.  2nd places were fun to see GFW looking good in jazz and Canby hearing their name in kick.  It’s been a while since those teams were on the podium at a big meet like this.  Should keep things interesting looking ahead.

Frazee and Pelican Rapids:  These 2 keep going back and forth in jazz and Frazee ended up on top in the Hawley meet.  Frazee also pulled ahead in the kick division for the first time this season over the PR team.  This one is going to be fun come sections time.
