Finally! We have real, hard copy text of this year’s (2015-2017) rules book! I’ve conveniently uploaded it as a PDF for download and in a slick viewer format for browsing. Because of the “highlighting” that is done on many pages, you’ll need to use that zoom tool to get in and clearly see the text. Either way, it’s fun to have that finally up in a modern format! Too bad the MSHSL doesn’t just do that on their own – but that’s why I’m here. It will be found on it’s own page. Use the navigation bar and hover over “Resources” to find the drop down “Rules Book” tab. New rules updates will go there in the future.
MADT Coaches are hosting a special continuing education training event this Saturday – all member and non member coaches are welcome to sign up! (there is a fee, but nominal – deadline is Wednesday 9/23 to sign up). There will be in-depth rules discussion and I hope to share with you some of the surprises, tweaks, and interpretations from the rules book text at that time. I really don’t want to contribute to any confusion – so if you are unsure about some of this new language, hop on over to that training! I will try to keep the updates coming from here once I have gotten a chance to talk it out with other coaches at the session.
MSHSL Coaches Survey: The league is asking all coaches to complete a survey about live scoring options as well as a few thoughts on changing the awards process as a result. No, it’s not a “vote”. No, we don’t know exactly what will come of it, but coaches approved an experimental look into scoring options – so now it’s time to try a few things. Hop on to coaches clipboard and make your thoughts known by Thursday 9/24.
Keep sending me notices of your competitions and conference events I’m missing from the schedule! I’m updating regularly. 2 weeks to choreography and less than 4 to Winter 2015-16!
