Weekend Preview – Pre-Thanksgiving

A usually quiet November invite weekend will be full of meets this year as the challenging holiday schedule comes into play for early December. Conference events from this week are certainly turning some heads as we get to the weekend schedule, be sure to check out all the score updates either by meet or in composite for the year. Here’s what to look forward to this weekend:

St. Cloud Tech Invitational: The Tigers will be hosting a new invitational at their brand new school. With Tech moving down to AA, this meet will be a good chance for their new section competition to check them out. Rocori, Marshall, Delano, and Chisago Lakes will get together for the first time. Playing spoiler will be a surging Becker team and probably a wild card here or there.

Duluth Marshall Invitational: Another brand new event this year, the Marshall School will be welcoming both Duluth locals and some competitors from Bemidji, Crosby, Dilworth, and Pierz. I’ll be interested to see the class A outcomes here as we haven’t seen much for A scores yet this season.

Catholic Jamboree: A fun annual event with a focus on performances and community building. No official scores are released from this Catholic school only event.

Burnsville Invitational: The Blazettes host an exciting lineup where Lakeville North will debut with Prior Lake, Spring Lake Park, and Eastview looking to come out strong. The A/AA side features Wabasha Kellogg, Mound Westonka, Albert Lea, Kasson Mantorville, and Willmar for a nice variety of looks.

Farmington Invitational: Highlights here will include Lakeville South, Eagan, Roseville, Farmington, and New Prague from the AAA side, with an early look at what Austin is going to be doing for kick this year, always something not to miss. Overall placements here are wide open so keep an eye out for surprises.

Forest Lake Invitational: A trimmed down event on it’s new weekend, but still a lot of great matchups to catch. Up north visitors from Sauk Rapids and Brainerd will go up against strong early showings from Blaine, Edina, Centennial, Minnetonka, and Anoka. Orono and North Branch will round out the AA division with their debut performances.
